Welcome to Bay Area Cognitive Therapy, the psychotherapy practice of Dr. Daniele Levy in Menlo Park, California. I specialize in assisting adults suffering from depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, chronic medical conditions, and work/family issues to overcome their struggles and improve their lives using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I can help if:
You’re overly stressed about work, family, health and too many competing life priorities
You feel down, sad, depressed or have low self-esteem
You worry excessively about many aspects of your life
You feel overly nervous in routine situations
You have anxiety, irrational fears or panic attacks out of the blue
You suffered a trauma that you are still attempting to overcome
You are having difficulties in important relationships
You have ingrained habits that you would like to change
You need greater discipline to manage behavioral aspects of chronic diseases such as diabetes
You are navigating an important life transition
You are unhappy with your current circumstances and uncertain about how to move forward.
I offer a caring, collaborative, and goal-oriented style of therapy that focuses on learning, growth, and change. I will partner with you to identify areas in your life that you may want to change or others that you wish to accept and embrace. We will combine our expertise – yours, on your own experiences, and mine, on cognitive and behavioral change – to reduce your distress and improve your quality of life.
I tailor my work to each client’s problems to deliver fast symptom relief and lasting, meaningful results. I achieve that by leveraging modern psychotherapy techniques called “evidence-based practices.” Those are therapeutic approaches that have been validated through rigorous scientific research to treat specific mental health disorders, usually in brief intervention periods. In particular, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a modality that focuses on finding solutions for problems that are “here and now,” as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
In addition to offering individual and group counseling, I have advised, mentored, and coached professionals in fast-paced industries such as technology and consulting for over 20 years. I believe that personalized, professional psychological support can be a competitive edge in building a successful and fulfilling career. I can work with you to resolve workplace conflicts and navigate stressors using powerful insights and interpersonal techniques. While I treat a broad range of adult clients, I have dedicated much of my clinical work and academic research to issues related to women in business.
